STATED in London: Pollock's Toy Museum

Tucked away on the corner of Scala and Whitfield Streets just a short walk from London’s Russell Square, you’ll find a souvenir of another age. Pollock’s Toy Museum and shop was named for Benjamin Pollock, the “last of the Victorian Toy Theatre printers,” and has been at its current location since 1969. Inside the museum’s first-floor shop, you’ll find a charming array of Victorian-style toy theatres (paper replicas of actual theatres and productions from The Nutcracker to Edward Gorey’s Dracula), classic and modern toys, and an impressive selection of pop-up books for sale. Upstairs, the museum boasts a collection of antique toys of all kinds.
