Ai Weiwei's Sunflower Seeds at Tate Modern

Ai Weiwei’s Sunflower Seeds installation, now on display in the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall in London, is a staggering collection of millions of porcelain sunflower seeds, each hand-crafted by specialists in the Chinese city of Jingdezhen. The installation is a symbol of the people of China, each unique and working together to create a unified whole.

The artist, who has been controversial for his political beliefs, was arrested April 4 by the Chinese authorities as he boarded a plane to Hong Kong. His wherabouts are currently unknown.

Sunflower Seeds is on display through May 2 and is certainly worth a visit.
