Profile: Visual Artist Yumiko Kayukawa

Yumiko Kayukawa | Visual Artist | Stated Magazine Profile

Yumiko Kayukawa grew up in the small town of Naie in Hokkaido, Japan with a population of under 7000. It was there as a child of the 80’s that Yumiko developed the love of nature that dominates her work to this day. Her work is infused with her passion for American pop culture including music, film, and fashion, as well as the traditional Japanese motifs that are defining elements of her style. She has created editorial and cover art since 1986, participating in international group and solo exhibitions since 2001. She now makes her home in Seattle, Washington.

Tsubame Kamogawa, a Manga artist. His Manga is a bible for me. It’s a funny, cool, and rock-n-roll taste of manga which I most love.

Hiroyuki Sanada, the actor. A real action hero who doesn’t use a stunt double.
