Bela Fleck & The Flecktones at the Apple Store, NYC

The Flecktones play a quick one-off at Manhattan’s Lincoln Center Apple Store, July 5, 2011.

Recent featured stated artist, Béla Fleck, was joined by The Flecktones for a short set at the Apple Store Lincoln Center last night in New York. The popular jazz-fusion quartet treated an enthusiastic crowd to a mix of old favorites as well as several new tunes from their recent release, Rocket Science. The night was full of surprises as jazz great Wynton Marsalis hopped on stage to add his signature trumpet to the mix. It was his first time playing with the band, according to Fleck.

The world-class musicians were clearly enjoying themselves, and graciously chatted with fans before and after the laid-back performance.

Definitely worth experiencing live. Be sure to check out their Summer tour schedule and our recent interview with Béla about his career, trip to Africa, and recent marriage.
